This article highlights several suggestions that André Fossion puts forward for a correct catechetical initiation to Christian symbolism. There follows an identification of some things that need attention in the catechetical action keeping in mind the two fundament functions of a symbol: to be a sign for identifying Christians and to be a concrete expression of the Christian message. The article the turns its attention to the Eucharist seen as the experience of an exchange of gift using the liturgical-symbolical language.

L’articolo presenta alcuni opportuni suggerimenti di André Fossion per una corretta iniziazione catechetica al simbolismo cristiano. Vengono quindi evidenziate alcune realtà su cui porre l’attenzione nell’azione catechistica, tenendo conto delle due funzioni fondamentali del simbolo: essere segno di riconoscimento dei cristiani ed espressione concentrata del messaggio cristiano. Il discorso si sviluppa infine con una riflessione sull’Eucarestia, intesa come esperienza di scambio di doni attraverso il linguaggio liturgico-simbolico.
