L’iconografia della solidarietà e il suo contrario

Summary

The article analyzes several works of art from the era between the Middle Ages and Modern Era, a time in which the economy in Europe was in transformation and the power of the banks and the stock exchanges was strengthened.
Through their works the artists interpreted and represented the actions and situations around them, including the ideal and moral aspects of certain behaviors that call into question solidarity and its opposite. This is an efficacious iconography which is often touching and causes to reflect. Some suggestions are offered for the use of these works in school.

L’articolo analizza alcune opere d’arte comprese tra Medioevo ed Età Moderna, un tempo in cui in Europa l’economia si trasforma e si rafforza il potere delle banche e delle borse.
Gli artisti, con le loro opere, hanno interpretato e rappresentato azioni e situazioni, aspetti ideali e morali di certi comportamenti che chiamano in causa la solidarietà e il suo contrario. È un’iconografia efficace e non poche volte anche commovente che induce a riflettere. Si offrono anche alcuni suggerimenti per l’utilizzo delle opere in ambito scolastico.
