Educare ai Diritti Umani: L’impegno delle Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice

Summary

Recently, the international community has received a call to pay attention to education on human rights. The occasion was the Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training which was adopted in the General Assembly of December 19, 2011. This article gives an overview of the instruments adopted by the UNO for the promotion of education on human rights, and expounds on the contents of this education according to the Declaration.
The article then describes the journey of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) in defining the areas of their commitment for the defense and promotion of human rights. It then presents the principle agencies of which the Institute has to offer a quality education on human rights, so as to intervene in favor of the promotion of human rights in the international forums.

Recentemente è stata richiamata l’attenzione della comunità internazionale sull’educazione ai Diritti Umani con la Dichiarazione sull’educazione e la formazione ai Diritti Umani adottata dall’Assemblea generale delle Nazioni Unite il 19 dicembre 2011. L’articolo dà una panoramica degli strumenti adottati dall’ONU per la promozione dell’educazione ai Diritti Umani ed espone il contenuto di quest’educazione secondo la Dichiarazione.
Descrive poi il cammino dell’Istituto delle Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice (FMA) nel definire gli ambiti del loro impegno per la difesa e la promozione dei Diritti Umani. Presenta infine le agenzie principali di cui l’Istituto dispone per offrire un’educazione ai Diritti Umani di qualità e per intervenire a favore della promozione dei Diritti Umani nei fori internazionali.
