Summary

The article presents the Convention on Education to Hope which took place in Rome, May 7-9, 2009. This initiative is the fruit of the collaboration between the State Universities and the Pontifical Universities in Rome, and was inspired by the 2008 letter of Pope Benedict XVI sent to the Diocese and the City of Rome on the urgent duty of education. The article explains the title, beginnings, development, meaning and prospects of the Convention.

II contributo presenta il Convegno sull’educazione alla speranza svoltosi a Roma dal 7 al 9 maggio 2009. L’iniziativa è frutto di una collaborazione scientifica tra le Università statali e pontificie di Roma, ispirata alla lettera di Benedetto XVI inviata nel 2008 alla Diocesi e alla Città di Roma sul compito urgente dell’educazione. Del Convegno si spiegano: titolo, genesi, svolgimento, significatività e prospettive.
