Riassunto

Il contributo ricostruisce la vicenda di Suor Enrichetta Alfieri, Suora della carità, che operò presso le carceri milanesi durante la seconda Guerra mondiale. Sulla base di testimonianze dei detenuti, soprattutto per motivi politici e di ebrei, affiora una forte personalità capace di rischiare fino a essere lei stessa incarcerata. La carità concretizzata continuamente in gesti semplici, creativi, coraggiosi l’hanno fatta apprezzare da credenti e non credenti. Il 26 giugno 2011 è proclamata beata.

Summary

This article reconstructs the life of Sister Enrichetta Alfieri, a Sister of Charity, who worked in the prisons of Milan during the World War II. Based on the testimonies of the prisoners, especially those who were there for political reasons or were Jewish, we see a strong personality, a Religious who was capable of risking everything, even to the point of becoming a prisoner herself. Her love became visible in simple, creative, courageous actions which caused her to be appreciated by both believers and non believers alike. She was proclaimed "Blessed" on June 26, 2011.
