The Auxilium Faculty gives special attention to the society in which it lives.
Along with its foundational goals of training and research by its faculty and students, it is committed to communicating and promoting pedagogical formation to sustain a culture of life. It understands its cultural mission as a presence "in the service of thought" in "pastoral care of the culture" and in "intellectual charity"; it offers its services in the "territories" in which it functions as a cultural reference centre for the study and promotion of education policies.

La liceità fondamentale dell’interrogarsi sulla presenza di Maria nel processo educativo e sul reciproco rapporto formativo tra Maria e Gesù ha incoraggiato i partecipanti di un pre-seminario (8 febbraio 2003) - docenti della Pontificia Facoltà di Scienze dell’Educazione “Auxilium”, dell’Università Pontificia Salesiana, della Pontificia Facoltà Teologica “Marianum” e di altre istituzioni universitarie religiose e laiche - a proseguire la ricerca e la riflessione avviate sullo stesso tema da un precedente seminario. La pericope giovannea, scelta per sceverare un punto nodale del rapporto educativo in chiave cristiana, lasciava intravedere la possibilità di affrontare l’argomento dalle diverse prospettive delle scienze dell’educazione e di progredire gradualmente verso l’individuazione di risorse fondamentali per rispondere alle sfide dell’educazione cristiana nella nostra epoca. I contributi ora offerti, maturati in quella giornata di studio, attestano l’impegno delle/dei partecipanti a proseguire nella ricerca e possono diventare uno stimolo propositivo per l’attuazione della missione delle Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice e di chiunque si ispiri a Maria nell’azione educativa.
